She did do a good job of reflecting the state of my own self image at the time... something that had been pretty fine and successful for a stretch of time, but then got a little out of sorts for a while, maybe punched in the face here or there, probably deserved it, and felt a little rushed most of the time... still worth bringing home after a few drinks, but regardless, when the day came to go pick up my unsold paintings I couldn't wait to get this one so I erase her haggard face from my history and pretend like it never happened.
